European used clothing, sorted and graded before it ships

Europe generates a large, steady supply of wearable second-hand clothing through household collections, charity channels and textile collectors. That material is brought to sorting facilities, opened, hand-checked, separated by category and season, graded by condition and finally compressed into bales or built onto pallets for export.

Grading is where most disputes in this trade begin, so we treat it carefully. Cream (A+), Grade A and Grade B are widely used labels, but the exact standard behind them differs between suppliers and countries. We therefore state in every quotation which grade applies, which supplier standard it follows, what the lot contains and how it is packed, rather than relying on a label alone.

Second-hand clothing is natural mixed goods. Colours, sizes, brands and styles cannot be guaranteed piece by piece, and a small proportion of items in any graded lot may not meet your own resale threshold. Honest buyers plan for that; we would rather explain it here than after loading.

Import rules matter just as much as quality. Several countries restrict or prohibit used textile imports, and others require pre-shipment inspection, fumigation or specific certificates. We check eligibility for your destination before any stock is reserved, and the final responsibilities are set out in the quotation and sales agreement.

What each grade actually means

  • Cream (A+): the best pieces pulled from sorting, excellent condition, current styles, strongest resale value per kilo.
  • Grade A: clean, wearable, commercially attractive clothing with minimal signs of use; the backbone of most container orders.
  • Grade B: wearable clothing with more visible wear, priced for volume markets where affordability leads.
  • Mixed or unsorted: broader material for buyers who sort again locally and can use lower-value fractions.
  • Category-specific lots: jeans, jackets, t-shirts, workwear, children's wear or boutique and vintage selections, subject to current sorting.

From collection to loaded container

Material is collected in Europe, transported to a sorting facility, opened and hand-checked. Items are separated by garment type, then by season, then by condition. Unusable material is diverted to recycling streams rather than being pushed into resale bales.

Approved clothing is weighed and compressed into bales of roughly 45 kg, or stacked and stretch-wrapped onto pallets for mixed orders. Bales are labelled by category and grade so your own team can check the load against the packing list on arrival.

Sustainability and responsible trade

Reuse keeps wearable textiles in circulation and is the reason this trade exists, but it only works when what arrives is genuinely sellable. Sending unsellable material to a destination creates a waste problem there, which is why we sort to grade rather than shipping volume for its own sake.

Environmental and import requirements around used textiles continue to tighten in both the EU and destination markets. We follow the rules that apply to each shipment and expect buyers to confirm legal import at their end before goods move.

For European online sellers

Selling on eBay, Vinted or your own shop? Start with one bale or pallet

You do not need a container to buy from us. Many of our European customers resell online and order a single bale or pallet of good-quality clothing, footwear or accessories, then come back for more once their listings sell.

Built for online resellers

We supply sellers on eBay, Vinted, Vestiaire Collective, Depop, Etsy, Amazon and their own webshops, as well as market traders and boutiques.

Small starting order

Start with a single bale or a single pallet, no container commitment. Repeat orders can be scaled up whenever you are ready.

Listing-friendly quality

Cream (A+) and Grade A selections, plus new and new-with-tags pieces, chosen so items photograph well and can be described accurately in your listings.

Easy inside Europe

For buyers within the EU, pallets and bales move by road freight or groupage with no import duty and short transit times, usually the simplest way to test a first order.
